Imperialism

Imperialism means the policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring and holding colonies and dependencies. Great Britain is just one of the few nations that did this. They nation effected China by the Opium War. The Opium War was blamed on Great Britain because they had china open several trading ports causing the addictive drug Opium in. War broke out between Britain and China and didn't end until 1842. That was almost a 4 year war for nations who were pointing fingers. Every nation seemed like it wanted to have a piece of Africa and since it was "survival of the fittest", Britain won over everyone.

Blog Question - Why was the French Revolution a significant movement in history and would you consider the French Revolution a success?
Response-
The French Revolution was a huge movement in history because it showed that with a little bit of protesting and cooperation people can work out the issues with the government and get what they want. I do think the French Revolution was a success because the people got exactly what they wanted, even if it didn't last long.
